Gifted & talented students visit University College London!

Nine students in year 10 from Glenmoor and Winton took a trip to London to visit this world famous university. Our day included tour around their impressive campus and a fact finding mission which led us to their main library, specialist science library and Egyptology museum as well as having the chance to see the university student in their student union making the most of the facilities on offer.

The highlight of the day was the neuropsychology lecture that we attended in the lecture theatre used in the film Inception! The PhD student giving lecture captured imaginations and gave us an authentic lecture experience.

In the next day of this program students will explore some of the financial, study skills and presentation so they will need to develop for their future degree studies.

The students were a credit to the schools!

  1. This sounds like a fantastic trip Mr Carr. Opportunities like this can open students eyes to the wonderful world that lies beyond the school and local community.

  2. This is great, Russ. We’re doing a further trip with Winton and Glenmoor students tomorrow which I’m very much looking forward to. We’re going to Westminster to a conference about aiming for Russell Group Universities. It will be great for the students to see all of the opportunities just waiting for them.
